Waffles

My husband is not a stranger to making breakfast for me.  However it seemed extra special when he made these waffles for me on Valentine’s Day. Typically when my husband makes waffles he uses Bisquick and a couple of other ingredients. When he reached for the Bisquick he realized we were out.  Now what?  Honestly, a bagel would have been just fine with me.  However, he was not willing to admit defeat so he turned to Google and found this recipe. I’m glad we ran out of Bisquick because these are the best waffles he’s ever made.  In fact, after my …

BLT Egg Bagel Sandwiches

Breakfasts on the weekend are calorie free, right? I’m all about the bacon, about the bacon, about the bacon.  Can you hearing me singing that to this tune?  What a catchy song.  😉 I briefly considered all the fatty bacon and loads of carbs in the bagel.  However, I had a craving for bacon.  Can you believe it?  I rarely crave bacon or in fact any kind of meat.  Of course, I needed to satisfy my craving and the first thing that came to my mind was a BLT. Apple Cheese Danish

Pumpkin versus apple goodies… ah, the infamous Autumn food debate!  Do you have a favorite? You may think that baking a cheese danish is complicated.  You know because it looks all fancy dancy with its braid affect.  This one is really easy though, I promise.  I’ve even included step by step photos to prove it.  My husband likes loads and loads of detailed steps so I’ve decided to take a page from his book here. Hello gorgeous danish.  I’ve even impressed myself, which is a rare thing. This danish has the perfect ratio of dough to cheese filling to apples.  The cheese filling is creamy and perfectly sweetened.  It’s …

Fruit Smoothie In A Bowl

Have you ever heard of a smoothie in a bowl?  According to my youngest sister who works in NYC, it’s a recent trend.  What is it?  It’s a smoothie…wait for it, served in a bowl (instead of a cup).  Intrigued, I thought I’d give it a go so I created this easy and quick fruit smoothie. Fruit Smoothie In a Bowl Recipe (1 serving) Ingredients: 1 cup of frozen chopped strawberries, peaches and bananas (I used Dole Ready-Cut Fruit) 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional) 2 to 4 tablespoons of skim milk (The amount depends on how strong your blender …
