Blue and White

It’s all about the blues and whites, baby.  My home looks quite different since the last time you saw it at Christmas time.  After I put those decorations away I had a blank slate to welcome a fresh new look. A few weeks ago I saw the blue and white floral vase (pictured below) at Home Goods and I thought it was beautiful.  It put me in a cheery mood and I thought it would be a great way to welcome the warmer weather.  Folks, I had found my inspiration piece for the new look. The candle, books, gold bowl and picture frame are …

A Tina’s Chic Christmas

Christmas starts early in our home.  It’s tradition for us to get our tree on the weekend immediately after Thanksgiving.  My husband strings the lights on the tree and I decorate it with the ornaments.  Don’t you love my husband’s game ornaments next to elegant ones?  😉 It takes me most of the day to decorate the tree.  Every ornament has its spot.  I’m kinda finicky that way.  Which now that I think of it, may be why my husband doesn’t want to help. We host lots of holiday dinner parties.  It’s our thing.  This year I used red accents for the dinner …

Home Bar Decor

Do you remember when I used to post about home decor?  I haven’t done that in ages so I understand if you don’t.  I’ve been so focused with food lately (because hello, food is awesome) that I’ve completely ignored my love of styling my home.  I was inspired by my Gin And Tonic post from the other day to show you how I’ve designed a bar area in my dining room. Here are a few general thoughts that I had in mind when I styled this bar area: Keep it simple and uncluttered. Show the favorite liquors that have pretty bottles (it’s styling …

Simple Coffee Table Decor

I find decorating my coffee table so much fun because the possibilities are endless.  Technically I have a “cocktail table” since there are little shelves that you can pull out to place your drink.  How neat is that? The table is pretty traditional with its round shape and dark wood.  I have a nice blank slate to work with.  I wanted a simple, uncluttered look using neutral tones, which and I did by using only three neutral colored objects. I still adore the cork screws in the over sized round glass container that I made a few months back.  Wine Corks Decor can coordinate …

Easter Tablescape

Time to set the table for Easter dinner!  I don’t have a lot of Easter decorations so I tend to have more of a springtime table with accents of a bunny and Easter egg here and there. The delicate eyelet lace table runner creates a soft backdrop for my tablescape.  Table runners can be a good tool to help you get a sense of where things can be placed on the table.   I used a variety of hurricane glasses (mercury glass and clear glass) and tall chunky candles which run down the table.  Using objects of different heights creates …
